MFSTSA IS A REGISTERED STUDENT ORGANIZATION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS
URBANA-CHAMPAIGN

OUR MISSION

The Metropolitan Food and Environmental Systems Student Association (MFSTSA) at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) is a student-led group focused on providing food systems education to all UIUC students. Our members seek to understand and transform the food system on local, national, and global levels, while recognizing that all individuals are affected differently by the food system. By disseminating food systems knowledge, we hope to foster a campus community that values inclusive, equitable, and sustainable food systems.

WHAT WE DO

MFSTSA hosts social and educational events with expert guest speakers and serves as a community for people interested in how they contribute to or are affected by their food system. We strive to host empowering representatives of the food system that model innovation and open mindedness in their careers. We cover any and all topics related to food --- food security, nutrition, community engagement, international development, food justice, urban agriculture, food waste, climate change, entrepreneurship in food business --- and whatever YOU would like to hear about!
